Gutierrez threatens further civil disobedience

The DREAM Act, which in itself may or may not be a good idea, was just voted down in the Senate. United States Congressman Luis Gutierrez (former leader of the Puerto Rican Socialist Party) has threatened civil disobedience if the DREAM Act is not enacted, making it easier for millions of illegal immigrants to become U.S. citizens.
He’s ignoring the fact that all those illegals are already committing civil disobedience just by being here. So the next step is … what? This is a threat, plain and simple.
Many of the border hoppers don’t even want citizenship. Some want to make money and send it back home. And the “free” Obama health care that so many Americans expect (paid for by Americans) is already free for illegals. A Cincinnati hospital billing staffer said, “We don’t even send them a bill.”
The angry undocumented might, as a token of good faith, send the U.S. government a money order for the amount they’d be paying in taxes as legal citizens. Or just send the family allowance to the government instead of to Mexico.
People are still placing themselves in jeopardy to enter our borders, not to break out. It’s good here. There’s nothing so bad within these borders that justifies a Congressman threatening American citizens. http://www.examiner.com/independent-in-cincinnati/gutierrez-threatens-further-civil-disobedience
U.S. Congressman Gutierrez Wants to Hijack the Civil Rights Movement
“We’re going to make it uncomfortable for the Democratic Party,” Gutierrez said, adding that immigration advocates would step up the pressure by drawing lessons from the movements for civil rights and women’s suffrage. “There’ll probably be civil disobedience. There will probably be a number of different actions. What we have to do is we have to break through this wall of silence, because we’re invisible.” Read the rest at http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/12/us_congressman_gutierrez_wants.html
