CNSNews.com Editor-in-Chief, Terry Jeffrey, discusses the recent Smithsonian scandal where CNSNews.com uncovered a blasphemous and obscene exhibit at the taxpayer funded National Portrait Gallery.
CNSNews.com reporter Penny Starr broke the story of the disgraceful Christmas exhibit, “Hide/Seek,” at the taxpayer-funded Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery. The Washington Post and other liberal news organizations had reported on the exhibit without mentioning that it featured an ant-covered Jesus and what the Smithsonian itself described as “homoerotic” art.
When CNSNews.com published the truth about “Hide/Seek” there was an immediate frenzy of media coverage. Within minutes of its 4:00 p.m. release it was featured prominently on the Drudge Report. By 6:00 p.m. it was the lead story on Mark Levin’s radio show, and by 9:00 p.m. Sean Hannity was discussing it on his national T.V. show.
Incoming House Speaker John Boehner and incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor called for the exhibition to be cancelled. Less than 24 hours after CNSNews.com posted its story, the National Portrait Gallery pulled the ant-covered Jesus. By the Smithsonian’s own admission, this was the first time the institution had ever altered an exhibition due to public outcry.
Listen to Terry explain why other outlets missed this major story.
Maybe, the editors at The Washington Post see no newsworthy story in obscene “art” being displayed in a federally funded museum that children frequently visit to see portraits of U.S. presidents.
The American people do care about stories like these, and so do the reporters and editors at CNSNews.com!
Merry Christmas and God Bless
