Sweden, N.Y. -The Department of Environmental Conservation will soon begin investigating what could be a dangerous mess in Sweden: the abandoned site that once housed Ace Cleaners at 4626 Lake Road.Solvents used there and disposed of at the site seeped into soil, the groundwater and the soil vapor. Residents were notified in recent months following an earlier investigation. The DEC could not confirm the exact date of its upcoming investigation, but said it will start in January and could finish this summer. Messages left for the last known owner of the Ace Cleaners site were not immediately returned.
