Italy’s Mount Etna erupted in spectacular fashion on Wednesday night, hurling flames and ash high into the night sky, and unleashing streams of lava. None of the villages on the lower slopes of the volcano were affected. Located on the island of Sicily, Mount Etna is Europe’s tallest and most active volcano. It’s last significant eruption was in 1992.
