Pima Community College Releases Video ‘Tour’ That Got Jared Loughner Suspended
As law enforcement officials and the media attempt to make sense of last week’s shootings in Arizona and its mentally troubled architect, Jared Loughner, more information has trickled out to paint a picture of the incoherent, seemingly deranged ramblings in Loughner’s head. The latest: a YouTube video Loughner made giving a tour of Pima Community College that got him suspended from that institution. In the video, released by the school, Loughner walks around the campus, claiming to be on a mission to “examine the torture of students” and explaining the uses of various campus facilities. Some of his talk is familiar– the repeated claims that “they control the grammar,” for one, were also in other bizarre videos Loughner posted. He also claims the school is “one of the biggest scams in America” and “the students are so illiterate it affects their daily lives.”The video had been kept on file by campus police after it, among other factors, led to the school barring Loughner from studying there. It seems consistent with his other output, as well as the testimonies of those who knew him at school that he was someone who appeared deeply disturbed and made others uncomfortable. The video was released to the LA Times after a public records request.Watch the video below:
