An event apparently titled ‘1980 Free To Choose’ featured a debate between Frances Fox Piven, Milton Friedman, and Thomas Sowell. Needless to say, Frances Fox Piven showcases the intellectual bankruptcy of leftist ideology, and the intellectual superiority of conservative, or pro-freedom, or constitutional, ideology.
It’s about individual rights, and individual choices, not ‘society.’ Individuals, as groups, have no responsibilities; the idea of groups having responsibilities is an intellectual/social construct of the left designed to shift the Overton Window, to shift our thinking, as individuals (we don’t think as a nation; only individuals think). The proper role of government is not to attempt to address equality of result; only to create a level playing field, to address equality of opportunity.
In other words, to secure our freedom, our liberties! Enjoy this stimulating debate:
