OH.MY.GOD! TELL ME I T AIN’T SO, SENATORS !

This is so incredibly and unbelievably hard to fathom. Why would 5 of our senators NOT know that the Gulen Movement is pure Islamist brain-washing? Did no one in the senators’ staffs do one simple check on Google to unearth a different take — than all applause — for this stealth jihad machine that’s working in our state? You put in Gulen+parent complaints, or whatever easy search you dream up, and this kind of stuff shows up all over the place: http://www.hawaiifreepress.com/main/ArticlesMain/tabid/56/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/3536/Antigay-religious-cult-tied-to-torture-seeks-Charter-conversion-of-Mokapu-Elementary.aspx

There’s even a book out exposing the Gulen Movement. “Tactics of Islam; The Gulen Movement Exposed.” http://www.amazon.com/Tactics-Islam-Conquering-America-Within/dp/1615797475/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1297366618&sr=1-1

What is it with our elected officials that they seem to have given up all sense of due diligence? This kind of misplaced applause for Gulen (or anything touching on Islam) undoes hundreds of hours of real research and thousands of reports and articles and TV interviews by knowledgeable people fighting the enemy that’s in our state. This kind of . . . what? — I don’t even have a word for it — sweeps the feet right out from under those of us who know how dangerous to us the enemy is. And sweeps the feet out from under Texas parents who’ve been fighting the Harmony Schools for years.

Texas Senate Honors Mr. Fethullah Gulen and the Gulen Movement

The Senate of the State of Texas on Tuesday passed a resolution commending respected Turkish scholar Fethullah Glen for his contributions to the promotion of global peace and understanding.

Senate Resolution No. 85, which was approved during Tuesday’s session chaired by Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, said, “The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Fethullah Glen for his ongoing and inspirational contributions to the promotion of global peace and understanding.” The resolution said Turkish scholar, author, poet, preacher and educational activist Fethullah Glen has inspired a worldwide social movement that promotes humanistic values and service, known as the Hizmet movement, or the Glen movement.

And who did this? http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/82R/billtext/pdf/SR00085F.pdf#navpanes=0

The authors of SR 85 are Senators Lucio, Fraser, Huffman, Nelson, and Van de Putte: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLookup/history.aspx?LegSess=82R&Bill=SR85

Please, call these senators. Let them know that we’re not happy with, first, the Mansfield ISD (and the Bedford ISD) trying to sneak in Arabic culture and language lessons, and now this, honoring an enemy to our children.
