German Jihadist in AFPAK – Abu Adam al-Almani: “New Year in Waziristan”

The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) has published a German-language message from Mounir Chouka, a German national fighting with insurgents on the Afghan-Pakistani border (who goes by the pseudonym Abu Adam al-Almani). The message revealed that German Al-Qaida member Bekkay Harrach died during a joint Al-Qaida, IMU and Tehrik Taliban Pakistan attack on Bagram, which Chouka claimed left “about 200 dead on the side of the enemy.” The U.S. Treasury Department has designated Harrach as an SDGT, noting that “according to investigations by the German Federal Public Prosecutor, there is reason to believe that Bekkay Harrach has been a member of al-Qa’ida since March 2007, during which time he received military training at an al-Qa’ida camp. In addition, he has made threats regarding terrorist activities and suicide attacks that were distributed in Germany via the al-Qa’ida media office.” The statement also asserted that Baitullah Mehsud had delivered an ultimatum to the Pakistani government to halt drone attacks: “The set date for the fulfillment of these conditions was May 25, 2009. If by then the drones did not disappear from the sky, then he would start a war with the Mujahidin and the Mahajirin and the Ansar which would only cease when Sharia law was to be established in Pakistan. A man a man, a word a word! As the Pakistani government refused to address the conditions, the Mujahidin started digging their trenches prior to the date and were distributed over three fronts.
