The video coming out of Wisconsin is breathtaking.

After the state Senate passed anti-union measures, protesters swarmed the Capitol. But because of a judge’s order that the building be closed after 8pm, police were required to try and stop them. They tried. And because of the aggressive manner of the protesters, eventually failed.

Below is video taken by the conservative MacIver Institute of protesters who had already seeped into the building making a mad, Trojan horse-style run for the front doors to let in other protesters. Police quickly stepped in to try and stop the flow. It got physical:

Protesters even tried to break into the building through a bathroom window, but ingenuity and a quick-responding officer thwarted that attempt:

Once they had busted their way inside, protesters held a rally:

And once again they danced and banged drums, this time alongside a “stripper cop” and a guy in deer suit:

After about an hour and a half, protesters stormed the building’s entrances, forcing themselves past police blockades.

Protesters who remained in the building past the hearing’s conclusion ran the risk of being arrested for disorderly conduct because of a March 3 court order that declared people could not occupy the Capitol after hours.

Capitol police said they were in “crisis mode” Wednesday evening because the building had been “taken over” by protesters. About 1,000 people were inside the building and 6,000 joined them after rushing previously locked doors, according to a statement from the Department of Administration.

Police were concerned about protesters’ physical safety with overcrowding, especially on the Capitol’s second floor bridges, the statement said.

DOA spokesperson Tim Donovan said law enforcement officers attempted to prevent forced entry from happening but were unable to because of the large volume of people.

“We’re disappointed that people who have been very cooperative over the past three weeks were not cooperative tonight and entered the building against the court order,” Donovan said.

Madison resident John Severa held a State Street entrance door open for an hour and said people inside the building rushed to the entrance to push the doors open for protesters outside.

Police responded shortly after to try to barricade the door, but their attempts were unsuccessful. After several minutes, police retreated while protesters cheered.

It includes speeches and chants, everything from “When I say ‘Walker’ you say ‘douchebag,’“ to ”Do whatever is necessary.” One man with a bullhorn even turns on AFL-CIO head Richard Trumka because he might not authorize a massive strike:

WI Reps Get Death Threats:

The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating an e-mail threatening the lives of some Republican state senators.

DOJ spokesman William Cosh says the Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating one e-mail and other threats from several sources, but he declined to be specific.

A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says two death threat e-mails that were sent to Fitzgerald’s office Wednesday night have been forwarded to Capitol police. Andrew Wellhouse says the address of the e-mail sender was apparent but that police directed him not to disclose it. WTMJ confirmed police are investigating several death threats, including the e-mail above.

Wisconsin GOP senators were told toe flee the Capitol almost immediately after their vote because police said “it was not safe.”

Michael Moore Rant: Wisconsin Union Law Means War

Michael Moore Rant: Wisconsin Union Law Means War Activist filmmaker Michael Moore responded angrily to the Wisconsin State Senate’s vote to strip public unions of their right to collectively bargain, declaring: “This is war.”

Appearing on Rachel Maddow’s show on MSNBC Wednesday night, Moore said: “I would say that anyone who lives within driving distance of Madison, Wisconsin right now should make their way to the capital. This is war. This is class war that has been leveled against working class people in America.”

Moore also called for a “student walk-out” on Friday afternoon to protest the Wisconsin vote.

Moore rambled on about home foreclosures, jobs lost to foreign countries, and the power of the wealthiest Americans, holding up a pair of handcuffs as he told viewers: “The rich have committed these crimes and the people will demand your a** in jail.”

He also told the rich and bankers: “We have a right to your money.”
