It appears that Democrats are either not being very careful, they’re attempting to provoke us, or they are overconfident, and they honestly don’t fear us at all. Even their Senators, who are supposed to be their most Diplomatic, cordial politicians (other than their Presidents), but they openly despise us so much, that they are willing to publicly declare that we don’t deserve Constitutional rights!
And what did we do to deserve such bigoted treatment? We dared to call for the end to taxpayer funding of infanticide via Planned Parenthood!
Any Republican who thinks that Tea Partiers are extremists, and that we must ‘reach across the aisle’ and compromise with leftist Democrats, cannot claim to be Republican, once this news is spread around the blogosphere and is widely reported in the news.
Oh, wait. The radical left owns the news, except Glenn Beck, Megyn Kelly, Neil Cavoto, and Sean Hannity on FNC, and most hosts on FBN. Nevermind. They think the American people will never know that this happened. May I suggest that we spread the word on this, far and wide?
Actually, it’s difficult to hear Senator Frank Lautenberg’s patronizing follow-up, because the right-to-life counter protestors taping his remarks reacted vocally to the idea that an elected official would divide up Constitutional freedoms based on whether people “deserve” them or not. His allowance that he’d give those freedoms to Tea Partiers despite their political views might be even more offensive than his initial remark on Tuesday, as he addressed a Planned Parenthood demonstration:
On March 22, 2011, U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg stood with, and was applauded by, Planned Parenthood supporters and state lawmakers and said, “They [Tea Party Republicans and the majority of Americans who don’t want their tax dollars funding Planned Parenthood] don’t deserve the freedoms in the Constitution, but we’ll give it to them anyway.” State lawmakers in attendance were Asw. Valerie Vanieri Huttle (D-37), Asw. Linda Stender (D-22), Asm. Gordon Johnson (D-37), Senator Robert Gordon (D-38) and Asw. Connie Wagner (D-38).The Rally took place in front of Planned Parenthood, 46 Van Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ. Listen to the video .
“… The Republicans in Congress claim they’re concerned about the budget balance, but it’s a disguise! It’s not true! It’s a lie! That’s not what they want. They want — they want other people not to be able to have their own opinions. They don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution! But we’ll give it to them anyway.”If there’s a better example of self-evident projection, I’d like to see it. Lautenberg claims that Republicans want to outlaw opinions, based on nothing but apparently some slippage in his tinfoil hat. He then assumes that the government has the power to do exactly what he accuses Republicans of desiring, but airily decides not to exercise it.
News flash to Lautenberg: rights are not Congress’ to grant or rescind at whim. You don’t get to decide which people deserve rights to free speech, especially not based on political thought. In fact, that’s the entire reason for the First Amendment, which restrains government from making that decision. The “freedoms in the Constitution” aren’t a grant from Congress, but a recognition of innate human rights — and a restraint on Congress from violating them.
Perhaps Lautenberg might want to study the Constitution and its history before presuming that the Senate operates as a nobility that can choose to silence the serfs at whim. Or at least get a tinfoil hat that fits.

So much for that Equal Protection clause.
During a pro-Planned Parenthood rally in New Jersey this week, Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg (NJ) reportedly blasted Republicans and conservatives who are against funding the pro-abortion group. And by blasted we mean he doesn’t believe they deserve all the rights found in the Constitution:
The Tea Party Republicans in Washington claim they’re concerned about the budget balance, but it’s a disguise! It’s not true! It’s a lie! That’s not what they want. They want — they want other people not to be able to have their own opinions. They don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution! But we’ll give them to them anyway.
Sure, at the end he says “we’ll give it to them anyway.” But as Hot Air points out, that’s at best patronizing.
The comments are quickly coming under heavy fire from pro-life advocates.
“Lautenberg’s remarks and attitude were extremely inappropriate for a U.S. Senator,” Marie Tasy, the director of New Jersey Right to Life, told LifeNews.com, adding that the comment “bears repeating because it provides evidence of how Planned Parenthood and its supporters actually feel.”
“This statement is shameful coming from a U.S. Senator,” she added. “Lautenberg made these remarks surrounded by Planned Parenthood employees, supporters and state lawmakers who applauded him. These remarks are absolutely shameful and need to be exposed.”
