Maine. The only place I feel at home. Lived and worked at
Charleston AFS north of Bangor for 5 years. Loved the towns,
the woods, the mountains, lakes and streams. Fished and
hiked. Ate steak at the Red Lion in Bangor, Mussels and
clams at the Oronoko Restaurant in Orono. Dated the girls
at Uninveristy of Maine, Orono. Ate my fill of Lobstah on
the causeway to Bar Harbor. Picked those low bush
blueberries on Katahdin. Enjoyed the Blackbeeries on the
slopes of Cadillac mountain (searched for it but never found
the cah.)
The clap of Thunderhole in winter storms, the ice of frozen
Sebec and Sebago lakes and driving out onto it with your
car.
The drone of the endless Maine turnpike in winter.
Ah!! Memories of Maine, I plan to make some more and refresh
the old ones. I guess dateing the girls at Ornon is out but
the rest is fair game. Lookout I will return!!!!
