The feds won’t defend the border… NOW they won’t cover states’ costs to jail illegal immigrants.

The Obama Administration is following through on its threat to reduce federal funding to the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program which helps states cover the costs of imprisoning illegal aliens.

President Obama’s intentional punishment is nothing more than a petty backlash against states trying to enforce EXISTING federal immigration law.

But when it comes to dollars and cents, states everywhere are suffering.

The Nevada state Department of Corrections has had a shortfall of just under $1 million for the rest of the existing year and is now depending on state funds to fill the budget gap left by President Obama’s Pro-Amnesty politics.

Last week, deputy director of the Nevada state Department of Corrections, Jeff Muhlenkamp, told the Senate Finance Committee that is costs about $22,000 a year to house each illegal alien inmate.

The federal government only provides about $2,200 – $3,300 per inmate and now it’s even less.

Most of these illegal immigrant inmates have been convicted of serious offenses and cannot be released or deported for fear they will return to the U.S. through the porous U.S.-Mexico border.

Nevada is not the only state going broke incarcerating and supporting jailed illegal immigrants.

In 2010, California spent around $1 billion on just their illegal alien inmate population. The state received $88.1 million in federal reimbursements…this year CA will receive in less – $32.8 million from the federal government.

Every state in this country and every level of government is facing a budget crisis, but President Obama is intentionally punishing states by reducing federal imbursements, claiming that only the federal government can enforce immigration laws and refusing to defend our borders in any meaningful way.

The Obama Administration refuses to take any moral or financial responsibility for those illegal aliens victimizing Americans and states’ budgets.

States across the country are trying to fight back in order to protect and provide for U.S. Citizens. But they are being punished. State legislatures everywhere are taking money from programs for citizens in order to meet the budget gap caused by President Obama’s pro-Amnesty politics.

Obama will not defend our nation against the onslaught of illegal immigration, nor will he allow states to defend themselves. Of course President George W. Bush tried to end the reimbursement program altogether.

Patriots, securing our border and enforcing immigration law is more than a partisan issue.

It’s about preserving and protecting our country, our economy, and our way of life.

America needs your help.

We are told that illegal immigration is a federal matter hence Arizona cannot enact their own laws banning illegal aliens from the state despite it being a spitting image of federal law.

The Department of Justice has yet to file or even hint at filing a lawsuit directed at Utah’s latest immigration catastrophe even though it usurps federal immigration authority to the same extent as Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law.

But we know why.

President Obama is on board with illegal immigration. In fact, he is depending upon open borders, Amnesty, and lax immigration enforcement in order to win the 2012 Presidential Election.

Arizona, Georgia, and other states enforcing immigration law are already seeing results of cracking down on illegal immigration – reduced illegal immigrant prison populations, reduced criminal activity, and jobs opening up for U.S. citizens.

It’s up to us to make sure progress isn’t hindered by President Obama’s ongoing refusal to secure our border.
