ELOY, Ariz. – The Pinal Regional SWAT team was recently involved in a desert operation that focused on individuals and groups connected to smuggling drugs, illegal immigrants, stolen weapons, money and supplies.
On April 28, SWAT members assisted the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to prep for a trash clean up near the Sawtooth Mountains. While there, SWAT members found a sleeping bag, radio and two cell phones – in what appeared to be a suspected observation point.

Since February 24, 2011, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Jesus Diaz has been sitting in a prison cell, following a conviction on one count of excessive force and 5 counts of lying to Internal Affairs. Given the circumstances of his case, and this government’s seeming crusade against Border Patrol agents, Agent Diaz could arguably called yet another political prisoner for Mexico.
Once the illegal aliens were apprehended, Agent Diaz allegedly pulled on the handcuffs of one of the smugglers as he was placing him in a vehicle…That’s it.

Intimidation spilling over the border with Mexico
The greatest impact on the U.S. side of the border, however, has not been publicized drug battles and dead bodies in the streets. It has been coercion, intimidation and plata o plumo,
the dreadedchoice offered by Mexican drug traffickers – silver or lead, the bribe or the bullet. Some suspect these same factors have kept violence in U.S. border communities from becoming more public.
