Plea deal near in threats against former President Bush

A Greece man is nearing a deal admitting that he did “threaten to kill, kidnap or inflict bodily harm upon former President of the United States George W. Bush,” court papers show.
A court document, called an “information,” was filed in federal court Thursday alleging that Ian Rotunno, 24, made threats against the former president in October. Rotunno has been jailed since his arrest in October, and attorneys have indicated they are nearing a plea deal.
The information, filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bradley Tyler, is a step prosecutors take to schedule a court hearing for a plea agreement. As of today, a date had yet to be scheduled.
While information filings usually signal that a plea has been reached, agreements can collapse before the formal hearing.
Authorities detained Rotunno in October after he allegedly told a co-worker that he was driving to Washington, D.C. He made threats against Bush, prosecutors say.
Rotunno was arrested driving south. There was a shotgun in his car, police say. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20110509/NEWS01/110509015/Plea-deal-near-in-threats-against-former-President-Bush
