Congress irrelevant – Elizabeth Warren skips out on House hearing

Obama consumer protection official Elizabeth Warren skipped out on a hearing about her own agency, citing an agreement on the hearing’s end timing that didn’t exist. Predictably, Democrats on the panel come to her defense, allowing her to escape accountability for her agency, which was created without debate inside the mammoth finance reform bill.

Congress has become irrelevant because progressives believe Congress just gets in the way of progress. So they find ways to circumvent the system – Elizabeth Warren has not been approved by Congress and was grilled about it during a very testy hearing in D.C. yesterday. The questions got tough enough that Warren actually tried to escape with the old ‘I have another appointment’ excuse.
