H/T The Black Sphere

On this day in history, June 24, 1924, the Democrat National Convention convened at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The convention delegation was heavily dominated by members and supporters of the Ku Klux Klan, who attended to nominate William McAdoo for President of the United States and support their members on the Democrat Platform Committee. This is a copy of the front page of the Washington Post after opening day. (H/T Ken Raymond)
