NJ’s Christie blasts critics of his new Muslim Superior Court judge‏

This is a classic opportunity to show just how wrong Chris Christie is, what Sharia law is, and of course I couldn’t resist.—Dorrie

Christie Blasts Critics of New Judge

PATERSON: A lawyer who defended Muslims detained after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was sworn in as a New Jersey Superior Court judge on Tuesday, as Gov. Chris Christie called those who criticized his nomination ignorant. No, that would be the governor. He apparently did no research on the guy, just took him at face value. If he did do any research, he’s a dangerous man to have as a governor of a US state because he’s putting an enemy on his state’s Superior Court.

The appointment of Sohail Mohammed, 47 years old, angered some conservatives, who said they were concerned about the influence of Sharia law, an Islamic code of law.

They are right: Islamic law is the Qur’an, the Hadith, and the Sira, codified into law. Just a few examples:

“Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, signifying the warfare to establish the religion.”
“Jihad is a communal obligation.”
“Those of the believers who are unhurt, but sit behind, are not equal to hose who fight in Allah’s path with their property and lives.”
If none of those concerned perform jihad, and it does not happen at all, then everyone who is aware that it is obligatory is guilty of sin . . .”

There can be NO . . .

  • Retaliation against a Muslim for killing a non-Muslim.
  • Retaliation against anyone for killing an apostate of Islam.
  • Retaliation against a Muslim for killing his child, sibling, and/or spouse, for a perceived slight against the family Islam. (Honor Killing)

The penalty for fornication or sodomy? Stoning. If the person happens to live thru it; good for her. The penalty for fornication or sodomy if the person didn’t know she was breaking the law? 100 lashes. If the person happens to live thru it, good for her. If a person falsely accuses another of fornication or sodomy (and proving the falseness is all wrapped up with a gazillion different codes), that person gets 80 lashes. Likely that proof comes too late for the lady dead of stoning or being whipped.

There are many more where these came from.

Mr. Christie defended Mr. Mohammed, who is Muslim, calling him an extraordinary American and an outstanding lawyer who helped strengthen ties between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Muslim community after the 2001 attacks. Mr. Christie said the people Mr. Mohammed represented were inappropriately detained by the FBI after what he called a very difficult time for law enforcement. And all 29 of the detainees he defended were deported. The imam he defended is still subject to deportation by the Dept. of Homeland Security due to Hamas ties.

“It’s just crazy, and I’m tired of dealing with the crazies,” he said. “It’s just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.” It’s not a religion; it’s a way of life. Sohail Mohammed is not working for America, he’s working for Sharia law. Mr. Christie added: “I’m happy that he’s willing to serve after all this baloney.” ohail Mohammed had literally no trial experience, i. e. a 2-week stint in a marital case where he represented the male, and as a college intern observing a trial. How can you be a judge without trial experience? Why would Christie think that appropriate, or why did he ignore it as a genuine qualification? Could he have been pushing the man simply BECAUSE of his “religion”?

From postings on online message boards to testimony in the Trenton statehouse, critics said they were concerned about Mr. Mohammed’s beliefs. They reflected complaints of some who say Mr. Christie, who is being begged by Republicans across the country to run for president, isn’t as conservative as they would like. [That’s clear after this bit of aiding the enemy.]

“To many of us, this was political expediency, trying to court favor with a growing population, and that’s not what the judiciary is supposed to be about,” said Carolee Adams, president of the Eagle Forum of New Jersey, a conservative group. She spoke against Mr. Mohammed at his Senate confirmation hearing.

Ms. Adams said she’s been disappointed with Mr. Christie, saying he surrounded himself with liberal appointments. She said Mr. Christie’s dismissal of his critics meant he was “ignorant” of Sharia law. “He’s come under attack and in his typical fashion he will attack the attacker without answering it in a very intelligent and knowledgeable way,” she said. “That’s his style.”

Sitting behind the bench in a packed courtroom in the Passaic County Courthouse, Mr. Mohammed told of how his journey to that spot in many ways centered around that very room. It was in that courthouse where he took his oath of citizenship and where he served jury duty, which is what led him to abandon an engineering career and become a lawyer. He spoke of how he is an example of the American dream, how he came to the country in 1980, and how his mother worked two jobs to support the family. He thanked Mr. Christie for being a friend. “It’s all part of the process,” Mr. Mohammed said when asked about the criticism of his nomination.

It is part of the process of fooling people like Christie, that’s for sure. And so what if his story is true? Is he equating this to like, a Horatio Alger success story (or worse, copied from black history studies)? Does he say that along the way he realized the American dream of freedom of speech, religion, and Constitutional law was a triumph over Sharia law? Nope.

Mohammed is a member of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America. AMJA. Which is a creature of the US Muslim Brotherhood. Islamic law aside, the MB has clearly stated that its job in America is to “sabotage its miserable house . . . and make Islam victorious over all other religions.” Mohammed is unbreakably connected to that belief system — his own Sharia law demands his death if he doesn’t.

Where better could Sohail Mohammed carry out jihad than on a Superior Court? It’s his duty. He’s doing it.

Why would Christie risk his state’s highest bench for a person who has to believe in the MB way, or he couldn’t be a member of AMJA? Again, maybe this IS exactly what Christie accuses others of (as being contemptible): BECAUSE of Mohammed’s religion.

Asaad Siddiqi, president of the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association [Oh, now there’s surely a pillar of the American legal community], said there was a fundamental misunderstanding of the role of Sharia law for Muslims in America-that it is cultural, rather than something that would subvert a judge’s duty to uphold the law, constitution, and precedents. No, there’s no misunderstanding about Sharia law. Mr. Siddiqi aims to spread misunderstanding, but when anybody with any sense (apparently not Mr. Christie) can read the law in one compendium called the Reliance of the Traveller, which has been sworn to as the true and approved edition of Islamic law by all the various Islamic fiqhs (Hanbali, Hanafi, Maliki, and Shafi) it’s easy to know that Siddiqi is practicing white-washing, at the least. The RotT is where I got the laws above. Simple as pie and not confusing at all.

He said the criticism was similar to that levied at judicial nominations in other policy areas by opposition groups. Well, of course it is. It’s the truth and the truth will out.

Mr. Siddiqi, who once worked opposite Mr. Mohammed in a dispute involving parents and a school board [neatly not telling the case, the argument, or the outcome], described him as an intelligent and respected lawyer. Well, of course he did. One taqiyya expert vouching for another taqiyya expert. Taqiyya: Approved and obligatory deceit “to further the cause of Islam.”

“We’re a diverse state, and it’s important to have a judiciary that reflects the members, the citizens of the state,” Mr. Siddiqi said. Well, of course he did.

Why would this reporter even use his quotes? Oh, of course, because she’s one of the people the MB ID’d as a useful enabler (I’d call them collaborators) a “by their hands” helper, in bringing down the USA. “It’s an important step forward for the state.” Yes, an important, deadly, bad step.
