It occurs to me that the liberals (in this case, the Star-Ledger’s editorial board, none of whom put his or her name on this piece of junk writing) have to fight for and back Christie’s foolish move, even though he is purportedly a Republican and they would otherwise be fighting against him, because to not support him would mean they’d have to agree with the people (us!) they despise.
The twists they have to take to keep their liberal agenda in place is mind-boggling. I don’t know how they do it with a straight face. God knows, a straight, factually-laden statement is beyond them.
Or, Christie really is a liberal socialist and the editorial board of the Star-Ledger is just backing their guy.

Chris Christie makes right move supporting Muslim judge
[Not if you’re a red-blooded American, not strung out on the mind-altering drug of liberalese.]
In January, when Gov. Chris Christie announced he was nominating Sohail Mohammed, a Muslim, to the Superior Court bench, the right-wing blogosphere went bonkers, insisting New Jersey laws were about to be replaced by Sharia law, the code of conduct, or religious law, of Islam.
Overnight, the screwballs insisted, the state’s courts were about to excuse child abuse, domestic violence, stonings, and even murder by any Muslims who justified the acts with a religious defense.
The internet headlines screamed: “More creeping Sharia!” and “Chris Christie has a Muslim problem!” and “Chris Christie doubles-down on Sharia-compliant judicial nominee!” [And which of those was wrong? None? Imagine that.]
The paranoid bloggers went on to ask, “How does Sharia go in (the judge’s) household? Are his daughter and wife in a burqa?” And did we ever get an answer to that? Wife (wives?) and family came out for the photo op just like every other justice’s wife and family? What, no investigative reporting on that? Too insensitive to determine if Mohammed actually follows Sharia law?
Insulting, racist [Islam is what race again? How many times do they tell us that Islam is made up of all races?], narrow-minded stuff from lunatics [speaking for yourselves?] who consider themselves patriots.
So, congratulations to the governor for sticking with Mohammed, escorting him through the process and calling these people what they are: wack jobs – even though many of them are unhinged members of his political party.

“It’s just crazy, and I’m tired [poor you] of dealing with the crazies,” Christie said. “It’s just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background. I’m happy that he’s willing to serve after all this baloney.”
These are the same looney tunes, don’t forget, who protest illegal immigration and dream of shoveling Hispanics into trucks with pitchforks and deporting them by the millions. So what happens when they find themselves face-to-brown-face with a true American immigration success story with bulletproof papers and a law degree?
They attack his religion. Islam is not a religion; it is a complete way of life which encompasses all matters that pertain to living and dying the Islamic way. No, don’t take my word for it; take Seyyid Qutb’s. He wrote Milestones, and is the father of the modern Muslim Brotherhood. You know, that organization that’s about to reestablish the caliphate in the mid-east, just like they planned back in 1928? Actually, don’t stop there; there is so much out there that they’ve said, I find it impossible that none of you have never even accidentally tripped over it.
Carolee Adams, president of the Eagle Forum of New Jersey, took another approach, but it was just as questionable. [Facts are foreign to this board, huh?] She fired up the fog machine and challenged Mohammed’s qualifications, his defense of people detained in the aftermath of 9/11 and his affiliation to the American Muslim Union. She then connected far-afield dots to a controversial imam.
AP Photo/Mike DererAs an attorney, Sohail Mohammed represented scores of detainees caught up in the post-Sept. 11, 2001, dragnet. In this 2007 file photo, Mohammed watches a video of the television series “24” at his office in Clifton. Mohammed was among Muslims protesting their depiction as terrorists in the series. [Well, of course he was. He’s not an American who cares for America and wants to protect it. The first few episodes of 24 came much too close to actuality. No wonder the show went directly downhill after they caved to the Muslim complaints.]
| Her conclusion: “Gov. Christie has questionably seen fit to dishonor that day of infamy, and its still grieving nation by nominating Mohammed.” Adams had nothing concrete [according to who? I’d bet she had lots of facts, but they get in the way], so, in the end, she labeled the appointment “political expediency” that is “trying to court favor with a growing population.” |
Under that logic, of course, there could be no Hispanic, Indian or Asian appointments, either. But white guys? Probably okay with them. All would be okay, dufuses. They don’t follow a creed that demands the submission of the world to their way of doing business and no other way. Your jobs, or what passes for jobs, would be gone in a heartbeat, even if you think currying favor is the safe way to go.
Mohammed came to the country legally as a teenager in 1980, and with a mother working two jobs to support him, ditched an engineering career to become a lawyer. It was a calling. He staunchly defended people’s rights as an attorney, built a sparkling reputation and is now a judge. [None of which denies he believes in Sharia and its demands to dominate the state and country he presently lives in.]
He was sworn in Tuesday in the same Passaic County courtroom in which he took his oath of citizenship and where he served as a juror.
Mohammed’s appointment is a badge of honor for Christie and New Jersey, but it also serves as something else our society and political arena desperately need: crazy repellent. Oh, brother. This is the worst sort of editorial. No balance, no facts, not even a glimmer of intelligence, just flinging words in place of true reasoning. They fit right into Christie’s world view, so, back to my opening statements . . .
