During an interview, Diane Sawyer asked Nancy Pelosi, “Do you think this (debt deal) is really going to hurt real people?” The implication, of course, being that the wealthy must not be real people.

“Well, I hope not. How could we have severe cuts to our domestic agenda, the education of our children, for example, and not one red cent coming from those who can afford to, uh, share the sacrifice that is necessary to reduce the deficit,” Pelosi responded.
“What, are people who make $100,000+ are pretend people? They are not really people?” Pat asked.
“It’s not going to affect anyone. You know what’s going to affect people are the Cass Sunstein regulations. You’re going to start to see the inflation of money. See, they need an excuse. They need something to blame the conditions on. This is not one of them. There’s nothing going to happen on this except the downgrade,” Glenn said.
