Well, I do believe that the mark of the beast involves some mechanism similar to what you illustrate above. But from what the Bible says the focus should really be on the worship of the beast. I dont think that God will hold a grudge over a mark, but the mark of the beast will be an indication of the worshippers of the beast and as such they will be appointed for eternal damnation. Much of what we hear about this subject could well be smokescreens to get us to pay attention to the wrong thing while the Real Mckoy is right under our noses.
