Flint among first to get free school lunches for all courtesy of U.S. government

FLINT, Michigan — No such thing as a free lunch?
Starting this week, there will be free lunches for all Flint School District students.

The district is one of the first in the nation to sign on to a new program that will provide all students, regardless of economic status, with two free meals and a snack each school day.

Michigan, Illinois and Kentucky were to be selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Option Program.

The program evaluates the economic eligibility of an entire school or district, rather than individual students, and if 40 percent of the school or district’s students qualify for free lunches, all students get them.

Michigan, Illinois and Kentucky were to be selected to participate

All three went for Obama big time and 2 are big union states. There is more need for this in Mississippi or Louisiana than in Michigan or Illinois. But they didn’t go for Obama.
