Orlando: Mayor lies, Obama snarls traffic again, how long before BOTH are history….

150 Jobs is an outright lie! The construction contractor that bid that job says… “It’s a big fat lie”!

ORLANDO, Fla. — On the same day President Barack Obama will visit Orlando, the city unveiled the first part of a roadway project named after him.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony that showcased President Barack Obama Parkway, near the Mall at Millenia.
Phase I connects President Barack Obama Parkway north of Conroy Road to Metrowest Boulevard, a mile-and-a-half stretch that includes lighting, sidewalks and on-street bike lanes. Shingle Creek Trail, used by pedestrians and bicyclists, was also extended.
Dyer said 150 jobs were created in Phase I of construction, which cost $10.5 million. The city will hire 150 more workers when Phase II begins, he said.
“One of the things that we have done in the city is some of the capital construction projects that we have the funding for that have been on the books, we moved them forward — expedited them — so we could create the jobs when we need them,” Dyer said.
When the project is completed, the parkway will extend from Conroy Road to U.S. Highway 441 in Apopka, a nine-mile stretch. The roadway will provide an alternate to Kirkman Road and John Young Parkway.
Obama visited Orlando for two separate fundraisers on Tuesday, one of which was held at prominent attorney John Morgan’s house in Heathrow.

How do We The People think:
*Is it true that on this road you can only make left turns and drive in the left lane?

*Point 1: The Democrat fundraiser’s comments that we should look toward the future – really, how does all the Bush bagging fit into that?

Point 2: Somehow I doubt those 150 jobs were sustainable – most were probably contract positions that ended. Lots of funny accounting going on here.

Point 3: $10,500,000.00 for 150 non-sustainable jobs. I’m so glad I’m handing my grandchildren a bill for these projects; borrowing against their future productivity for funny-accounting on some jobs today is just morally wrong.

*why not rename disney world to obama world and save naming roads for the adults

*We had plans to go to Disney in December. We canceled. We are going to San Antonio instead. We will never, ever go back to Orlando again. There are so many other great places to go in the United States.
