Will Durant’s quote, “A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within” speaks directly to one Senator Bernie Sanders who thought he found a good scapegoat for the oil price increases of 2008.
As reported in the October issue of Futures Magazine, “In August confidential information on crude oil futures trading positions from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) dating back to the summer of 2008 was leaked to The Wall Street Journal, causing the Futures Industry Association (FIA) to ask the CFTC to conduct an investigation…”
The source of the leak was Senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders was so proud of his leaking the data he announced it to the world in a Reuters story.
