30 Pieces Of Silver.

Every generation, it seems, must have its Judas.  In my day, one who accepted the 30 pieces of silver was former U.S. Navy Lt. John F. Kerry, now the senior senator from Massachusetts, proving that in Modern America, no bad deed goes unrewarded as long as the perpetrator is a liberal.  I’ve written about the exploits of Mr. Kerry before, here and here, and I bring him up (an appropriate phrase) only as an introduction to the latest military hero of the unheroic Left, the ex-Marine wounded in action by law officers on Tuesday last, during the “Occupy” protests in Oakland, California.  As reported by Verum Serum:

Scott Olsen is the Marine Corps veteran critically injured at Occupy Oakland Tuesday night, during a confrontation between the protesters and the police…

…It has been widely reported that Olsen is a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. But apparently his opposition to the U.S. military and the Marine Corps in which he served runs a little deeper.

The site is no longer live, but Olsen was the founder of IHateTheMarineCorps.com, a private user forum apparently dedicated to bashing the Marine Corps.

…Using this information, I also uncovered a comment from Olsen on the Yahoo Answers site from last year where he is highly critical of the Marine Corps:

    Thanks for the link. Mr. Olsen was apparently administratively–not honorably–discharged from the Corps, reason unspecified.
