1. NBC, ABC Skip Obama Administration’s Delay of Pipeline That Could Create 20,000 Jobs
ABC and NBC completely ignored a decision by the Obama administration that could kill up to 20,000 jobs. Only CBS’s Evening News on Thursday reported that a proposed oil pipeline from Canada to Texas has been delayed until after the presidential election due to environmental concerns. Evening News reporter Mark Strassmann explained, “Supporters said the pipeline from Canada’s tar sand fields would create more than 20,000 jobs and reduce U.S. dependence on oil from the Middle East.”

2. ONT>NBC and CBS Give Scant Coverage to Deadly Shootings at Occupy Wall Street Protests; ABC Ignores
On Friday, both NBC’s Today and CBS’s The Early Show offered news briefs on two deadly shooting incidents at two separate Occupy Wall Street protests Thursday night, while ABC’s Good Morning America failed to make any mention of the deaths. On Today, news anchor Natalie Morales reported: “Occupy Wall Street protests turned deadly overnight in two cities. In Oakland, California, Police are investigating a gun fight that left one man dead….And in Burlington, Vermont, a 35-year-old war veteran apparently shot himself…”

3. After Mentioning Cain, Bill Maher Says Romney Only Thing Stopping ‘The Rise of the Apes’
Appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America, Monday, to shill for his latest book, Bill Maher told George Stephanopoulos he’s rooting for Mitt Romney to win the Republican nomination. “At least he eats with a knife and fork. I mean, he is all that stands between us and the rise of the apes.” Couldn’t that be seen as a bit racist toward Herman Cain? We’re used to Maher slamming religious folks in that way, but “apes”? Stephanopoulos didn’t blink. He only said “He’s [Romney’s] probably odds-on, although Newt Gingrich…”

4. NBC’s Gregory: Obama Foreign Policy May Be Too ‘Successful’ for GOP to Attack
Appearing on the Sunday, November 13, Today show on NBC to discuss Saturday night’s GOP presidential debate that focused on foreign policy, Meet the Press host David Gregory suggested that, because President Obama’s foreign policy, “by a lot of accounts,” has been “very successful,” the Republican candidates may not be so eager to go after Obama in that realm.

5. On Leno, Chris Matthews Tears Down GOP 2012 Candidates as Incompetent and ‘Strange’
Appearing on Th ursday’s Tonight Show, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews went after the Republican presidential candidates one by one, asserting Herman Cain’s “bad, bad behavior” with women, Rick Perry being “not even competent to be in this on that stage,” and a “hypnotized” Michele Bachmann being a “strange person.” Even host Jay Leno got in on the GOP bashing, claiming the Republican Party had become so conservative that “even Reagan could not get elected” in a primary race. Matthews touted Reagan as a liberal: “He was pro-choice in California….He raised taxes. He did a lot of things that these people won’t do anymore.”

6. Time’s Stengel Asks Bill Clinton Why He Isn’t Tea Party ‘Hero’N>
In a recent interview, Time magazine’s Richard Stengel asked former President Bill Clinton why he was not a Tea Party “hero.” Stengel’s “criteria” were that Clinton oversaw a balanced budget and cuts to the rate of growth of the federal government. However, as CNN’s Wolf Blitzer pointed out to Stengel on Thursday, Clinton did so at the behest of a Republican Congress.

7. CNN Hypes Musician Playing ‘Occupy’ Song at Obama Dinner
Multiple times on Tuesday, CNN touted a musician who quietly played a song about Occupy Wall Street at an APEC dinner attended by President Obama and other world leaders. Hawaiian musician Makana performed in the background during Saturday’s APEC dinner and wore a t-shirt that read “Occupy With Aloha.” He sang softly and repeated the song over and over that was a tribute to Occupy Wall Street protesters. “We’ll occupy the streets, we’ll occupy the courts,” Makana sang in a brief clip provided by CNN.
