While there is plenty of blame being brought forth against both Democrats and Republicans for the Congressional “SuperCommittee” and its failure to procure a negotiated budget deal, some Democrats are calling out the man they feel is most responsible for the current political dysfunction in Washington D.C. – President Barack Obama.
West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, a Democrat, indicated during an interview with MSNBC that it was President Obama’s failure of leadership that contributed greatly to negotiations breaking down between Republicans and Democrats. “It’s the leader,” said Manchin. “He has to have the results.” Senator Manchin voiced a similar complaint during a segment on Face the Nation where he stated President Obama needed to “step forward and take leadership.”
