The well-referenced report focuses on textbooks in Florida but its impact is not limited to just that state.

“Florida is the third largest purchaser of textbooks in the United States with an estimated $267 million budget for instructional materials. Textbooks used in Florida become adopted curriculum standards for the entire country,” says Dr. Bill Saxton, chairman of Citizens for National Security and the primary author of the report.

Islamist Propaganda in
K-12 Classrooms

In September 2010, Ryan Mauro published an article titled, “Islamist Propaganda in the K-12 Classroom” listing some of the most egregious instances of bias in textbooks and classrooms. We’ve sent this out before, but it is important that you read it again as we make bring attention to this issue.

“The authors of these textbooks and the schools that continue to use them after being informed of their content are making a conscious decision to promote a glowing image of Islam at the expense of historical accuracy and fairness. The texts defame the Judea-Christian tradition for the aim of promoting cultural relativism and advancing leftist policy viewpoints about the causes of Islamic terrorism. And that’s not education; it’s indoctrination,” Mauro wrote.
