Philippine security forces scoured forested mountains on Tuesday in search of an Australian man who was abducted by suspected Islamic militants in the lawless south of the country.

Warren Rodwell became the 10th foreigner to have been abducted in the south this year when gunmen broke into his home in the small coastal town of Ipil on Monday, according to police.
