Genesee County Traffic Stop Uncovers 75 Cartons of Untaxed Cigarettes
Pembroke, N.Y. – A Rochester man is accused of transporting more than 15,000 untaxed cigarettes.
A Genesee County Sheriff’s deputy stopped Abdul Nedal Mansour on Route 77 Tuesday night for a traffic offense.
Mansour was found with the 75 cartons of untaxed cigarettes and also had a revoked driving license.
The untaxed cigarette charge is a felony.
Nedal Abdul Mansour, 48, of Jay Street, Rochester, is charged with possession and transport of more than 10,000 untaxed cigarettes, aggravated unlicensed operation, 3rd, unlicensed operator, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. Mansour was stopped for alleged traffic infractions at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday on Route 77 in Pembroke by Deputy Patrick Reeves. Mansour was allegedly found in possession of 15,650 untaxed cigarettes.
PEMBROKE, NY (WIVB) – Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a Rochester man who was driving erratically and charged him with transporting more than 15,000 untaxed cigarettes.
Deputies arrested Nedal Abdul Mansour, 48, in the Town of Pembroke. They found 15,560 untaxed cigarettes in his vehicle. Lawmen believe he was trying to transport them across Indian reservation lines.
Mansour faces one felony count of possessing and transporting over 10,000 untaxed cigarettes. Those cigarettes cannot be legally removed en masse from a reservation or re-sold elsewhere.
Deputies say Abdul was also driving with a revoked license. He was given an appearance ticket.
