McFARLAND, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — McFarland police said a “local advocate for many Hispanic citizens” was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly driving under the influence while in possession of methamphetamine.

Officers pulled over Rogelio “Roy” Pablo Gonzalez, who they called a former real estate agent and community activist, after Gonzalez allegedly ran a stop sign while not wearing a seat belt.
During a consented search, officers found meth and gave Gonzalez several field sobriety tests. He admitted to officers that he used meth, the police department said.

Gonzalez was booked into jail in Delano before posting $65,000 bail.
