Aurora Resident Accused Of Vowing To Fight With Terrorist Organization
DENVER — A 35-year-old refugee from Uzbekistan has pleaded not guilty to providing material support to a terrorist organization.
Jamshid Muhtorov of Aurora is accused of vowing to fight with the Islamic Jihad Union, which the U.S. State Department says is a terrorist organization. Muhtorov isn’t accused of plotting any attacks on U.S. soil.
The former human-rights activist was arrested Jan. 21 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport while on his way to Istanbul.
