THREE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT BROTHERS ACCUSED OF SERIOUS CRIMES

Three brothers – all illegal immigrants hailing from Ecuador – are now accused of serious, separate crimes. David Segundo Dutan-Guaman is the most recent brother arrested. He is accused of stabbing a 21-year-old man with a kitchen knife during an argument at a house party in Milford, MA. The victim is expected to survive despite leaving a trail of blood that stretched for more than a block after leaving the house.

If you recall, the death of 23-year-old Matthew Denice that caused an uproar against pro-amnesty Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, the name of the convicted murder was David’s brother Nicolas Dutan-Guaman. The third brother, Pablo, let Nicolas drive his truck even though he was not a licensed driver. Authorities say knowledge of David Dutan-Guaman prior to the arrest would not have made a difference in this case unless Secure Communities had been in place previous to his arrest allowing immigration authorities to learn about him. Still Gov. Patrick refuses to sign onto the Secure Communities program.

FLORIDA’S DREAM ACT DIES IN COMMITTEE

The Florida Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday voted 4-3 to kill SB 106 which would have allowed illegal immigrants who graduated from a Florida high school to pay in-state tuition at state colleges and universities. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida called the vote “disappointing.” State policy currently allows illegal immigrants to attend all colleges and universities in the state but they must pay out-of-state tuition. The following states currently extend in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland Nebraska, New Mexico New York, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
