Albany, NY-Feb. 23…New York’s junior senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-WFP) has been officially rated “The most liberal senator in America” (tied for first) by the respected Washington publication National Journal, besting notable left-wingers such as Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders (I), Minnesota liberal Al Franken (D), and California uber-liberal Barbara Boxer (D), the New York State Republican Committee today noted.
Ms. Gillibrand, who claimed to be a gun-toting centrist when representing a conservative-leaning upstate congressional district, has, since being controversially appointed to the senate by Governor David Paterson, become the most reliable vote for extreme left-wing causes and organizations, such as the now defunct radical group ACORN for which Ms. Gillibrand fought for federal funding – after ACORN was caught engaging in election fraud and other criminal activity.
“Senator Gillibrand makes Chuck Schumer look like Bill Buckley,” said New York State Republican chairman Ed Cox. “Our junior senator has veered so far off the mainstream path to curry favor with left-wing Washington leaders that the average New Yorker can hardly recognize her anymore. Ms. Gillibrand’s candidacy has been a bait and switch: She ran as Calamity Jane but governs like Jane Fonda.”
“New York Republicans continue to believe that Ms. Gillibrand’s abject transformation into the most liberal senator in America makes her extremely vulnerable in this year’s election,” Chairman Cox continued. “A number of talented and mainstream New Yorkers are considering challenging Ms. Gillibrand and her radicalism this fall, and we are confident that any of them can defeat her at the polls. This National Journal ranking drives her electoral vulnerability home.”
