Perang%20Socotra.jpgAlthough the proxy war between the US-NATO versus Russia-China in the Strait of Hormuz is unlikely to happen, the worst scenario of open war is possible to happen. The hardline group under the collaboration between the military civilian General Charles Wald and Democratic Senator Charles Rob, has remained positioning themselves as pressure groups against President Obama to implement a more aggressive defense policy.
Although the U.S. President Barack Obama has pulled its troops out of Iraq, the Pentagon is looking to deploy its troops to the two islands located in the southern Strait of Hormuz. By placing its military in the region, the U.S. will be easy to invade Iran. In regard with this trend, the military tensions will probably remain heating up.

Moreover, there is a plan in March in which Obama intends to deploy thousands of troops in the region.

As reported by DEBKA, Thursday (02/02/2012), the U.S. ordered the air force, navy, and marines to put themselves on islands of Socotra, Yemen and Masirah, Oman. The two Arab countries are still included in the influence orbit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states which are controlled by the U.S. and Britain.

Western military officials could not be sure how many U.S. troops deployed to the region. But according to reports, the U.S. troops that whill be placed on Socotra and Masirah are from the U.S. military base at Diego Garcia, Chagos Archipelago.

In March ahead the situation in the Middle East and Africa will increasingly heat up if the French fighter fleet will actually pass in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea along with the Uncle Sam’s carriers.

The placement of Western troops in Middle East waters is actually intended to secure the oil and gas distribution lines. Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s oil supplier pathways that could be blocked by Iran.

The blocking of the Strait of Hormuz would also make the world oil prices increase and that is why the West seems to insist in securing the waters from any form of threat.

Based on such estimates, the Global Future Institute has reminded the Indonesia’s national security authorities in order to observe and anticipate the worst scenario if the Proxy War has already heated up and crystallized between the US-NATO vs Russia-China in the Middle East and Africa.

Referring to the 2012 global political estimates launched by the Global Future Institute earlier this year, Southeast Asian will likely be a new zone of war to detonate Proxy War between the US-NATO vs China-Russia-Japan.

Have the Indonesia’s national security authorities examined intensively and anticipated the worst scenario of the possible proxy war?
