From the White House to Your House

When Barack Obama was running for President in 2008, he promised to stand with Planned Parenthood. And four years later, he’s never looked back. The most pro-abortion President in the history of our country–the same one who stuffed ObamaCare with cash for Planned Parenthood, the same one who was willing to shut down the entire government over the federal funding of Planned Parenthood–released an unprecedented new video from the Oval Office. This week, the President starred in an ad on behalf of Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund–the very PAC devoted to reelecting him in 2012.
“[O]ver the past year,” the President says, “we’ve had to stand up to politicians who wanted to deny millions of women the care they rely on and inject themselves into the decisions that are best made between a woman and her doctor… [W]hen some professional politicians casually say that they’ll get rid of Planned Parenthood, don’t forget what they’re really talking about: eliminating the funding for preventive care that millions of women rely on and leaving them to fend for themselves.”
The video was an obvious pitch to female voters, who surveys show are deserting the Obama camp in large numbers. What the administration refuses to realize is that these women are abandoning the President for the same militant ideology this ad promotes! Poll after poll shows that Americans–and in particular female voters–are disturbed by the attack on religious freedom via the contraception mandate, the ObamaCare abortion surcharge, and the decision to force faith-based groups to finance pregnancy-ending drugs.
What may be most disturbing is the President’s insistence on filming the ad in his official capacity (whitehouse.gov is the official tagline!) as the leader of a country with diverse social views. “President Bush could never have gotten away with making an advocacy video for FRC Action from the Blue Room,” Jill Stanek pointed out on her blog. Most Americans would agree that when it comes to promoting the abortion industry, this President has done plenty. And thanks to his rampant abuse of taxpayer funds, so have we.
