Welllll, we can look at this on several different levels: Extortion, Bribery for “favors”.
Personally? I have no problem donating an “x” amount of “$ on my IRS return — not a specific amount demanded — but a donation that will be spread around evenly to ALL CANDIDATES.
Since it is the Media’s responsibility to give us the background information on all candidates; and by the way, they have failed miserably — they should “give” airtime to ALL candidates. And, in turn it is a way that the one with “the most $” doesn’t win.
Being elected to an office does boil down, for the most part, to who has the most $$ for ads on TV; billboards, etc.
IF you have any more ideas, please feel free to add them.
