In the early 1980′s, Kashmir was once the center of film and culture, where spectacular Bollywood motion pictures were produced and movie theaters were everywhere. But with the imposition of Islamic religious intolerance and hatred for all things beautiful and joyous, nearly all the cinemas were forced to close and many were demolished by islamists, who consider movies, music, and entertainment un-Islamic.
