News broke on Thursday that Attorney General Eric Holder approved the Justice Department’s seizure of a Fox News reporter’s private e-mails, but it took CNN until almost 5 p.m. ET Friday to report the news. NBCNews.com reported on Thursday that Holder personally approved the search warrant labeling Fox News’s James Rosen a “possible co-conspirator” against the Espionage Act and paving the way for seizure of his e-mail and phone records. Furthermore, President Obama had announced Thursday that Holder would be the one conducting a review of his own department regarding its treatment of journalists and leaks. Yet all this was not enough of a controversy for CNN to promptly report on.
