Marine veteran and former coal miner, Jimmy Rose, stunned the judges and audience Tuesday night on America’s Got Talent with his original song “Coal Keeps the Lights On.”
Speaking softly with a pronounced Southern drawl, Jimmy Rose answered the judges, smiling as he acknowledged being a bit nervous.
“I’m from Pinewood, Kentucky. I’m a four year US Marine Corps Veteran…all my friends and family back home, you know we’re coal miners and I’m gonna be singing an original song called Coal Keeps the Lights On…just kinda my way, getting behind us all, supporting my home town.”
The judges were underwhelmed by the humble demeanor and accent…until the song began.
