Absolutely disgusting. Tell me again ‘how dedicated teachers are’….nothing but a pack of animals and union thugs.
On radio this morning, Glenn shared the story of John Janczewski, a resident of Rose City, Michigan whose son was molested by a teacher, Neal Erickson, at Rose City Middle School. The sexual abuse happened on several occasions when Janczewski’s son was in 8th grade. The boy is now a sophomore in college.
Erickson was convicted of statutory rape after a picture surfaced of the boy in a compromising position with the teacher. On July 10, 2013, the judge sentenced Erickson to 15-30 years in prison, but six educators and one school board member came out in support of the teacher and asked for leniency. According to The Detriot News:
“Before the sentencing, six teachers and two retired ones wrote letters to the judge asking for leniency.
None of the teachers condoned what Erickson did. Instead, their letters focused on his 17 years of teaching, describing his popularity with students and teachers, how hard he worked and how often he volunteered for school functions.”

No, hadn’t heard about that one…but I wouldn’t doubt it for a moment! I was 54 yrs old at the time I was in Graduate School and this young Professor liked it because the older ones who were in school actually listened to him, ask questions; debated with him vs. younger people who think they are gods. the “Teachers” who were taking the same classes hated the counseling/psychology majors because we held the professor(s) feet to the fire to explain more; asked questions, etc.
They wanted their GRADE and not to learn.
WE HAD to learn. We would be dealing with very mentally ill people as well as criminals. We absolutely NEEDED TO KNOW!
I don’t want to take up your entire blog on this subject because I have an entire file on my experience with Teachers AND Black teachers who were allowed to cheat all through undergrad and graduate school…BECAUSE THEY WERE TEACHERS taking classes to, supposedly, better themselves. What that means, “better themselves” is make more $$.

I don’t know why parents think they can’t stand up to the teachers. I had to scroll up to see if I already told you this because I have repeated this story sooo many times.
My daughter was in high school when I received a call from the Principal. He threatened to call Child Protective Services on me. Seems my teenage daughter was going in the front door of the school, then left through the back door to cut classes.
I drove immediately to the school and marched my unhappy butt into his office without an invitation. (paraphrase…but close to what I said) “I drive my daughter to school everyday. I WATCH HER WALK INTO YOUR SCHOOL. AFTER she is in the door, she is your responsibility NOT MINE.
So! If YOU allow this to happen one more time, I am filing charges on you with the school board AND I WILL call WBAP TV to let them know how you do NOT take care of the children here!”
He never said another word. AND, my daughter never skipped school again. He did make sure of that.

I won’t take up all of the space on your blog…I have an entire file folder full of stories dealing with school teachers…including academia (at the Bachelor’s and Masters Level).
I don’t understand why they are “protected and upheld” as some kind of “demi-gods” because they are NOT.
The old saying, “Teachers teach because they can’t do anything else”………is TRUE.
They really do have the emotional mentality of an 11 yr old child.

I was SO naive in high school that I never knew it until I went to a High School Reunion two summers ago. One of the younger Algebra Teachers had two football players as lovers. SHE WAS NEVER FIRED. She moved on because she got married and moved to another state!
THE ADMINISTRATORS KNEW ABOUT HER AND DID NOT DO ONE THING!

I “HAD” a friendship with two twin brothers who are over two different school districts in Ft Worth, TX. I asked them why in the world do ya’ll keep some of the rotten teachers?
One of them answered: “We do more than you think.”
He did NOT, as you notice, answer my question in a black and white way!

When I was in graduate school in the Counseling Program for my Masters, we had to share some of our classes with Teachers getting their masters to be School Counselors. THEY WERE ALLOWED TO CHEAT…..OPENLY CHEAT. During the tests hey even asked each other out loud: “What page is that on?” (they were allowed to have their books open!)
It was like that all through the classes they shared with us. NO ONE SAID A WORD.
Even in the Advanced Psychology class, they were GIVEN THE ANSWERS WRITTEN OUT BEFORE THE TEST!

It makes me so angry they are allow to get away with it all. Have you ever heard of the ‘rubber rooms’ all schools have, for teachers who sexually assault the school kids…it just makes me sick and angry. The parents are gutless, clueless or plain just don’t give a chit.
