The Pentagon is reportedly preparing for a possible order to strike Syrian targets with cruise missiles, as evidence mounts of the use of chemical weapons emerges from an attack on a Damascus suburb earlier this week, CBS News reported Friday. Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is expected to present options Saturday for a punitive cruise missile strike against military assets of the government of Bashar al-Assad, reported David Martin, CBS’s Pentagon correspondent.
A strike will depend on decisions yet to be made by President Barack Obama. In an interview with CNN Friday, Obama described the attack in Damascus leaving hundreds dead as a “big event of grave concern,” but stopped short of definitively declaring it a chemical weapons attack and said that the evidence must be clear and must be able to be presented to the United Nations to justify a punitive missile strike.

Sadly, an attack on Syria” Will only widen this particular conflict. The reason that Russia is so invested in this conflict, Is because Syria, and Iran are The last Bastions of Direct Russian Influence in the region. They are natural buffers to an ever increasing Gauntlet that is being laid around the entire area. I believe that it is a grave mistake to assume that we can carry out these attacks and not kill thousands of Syrians.

We need to stay OUT of Syria’s civil war. We need our guys and gals HOME from Afghanistan TODAY, not in 2014. The government has made sure Iraq and Afghanistan were failures and Lybia and Egypt, both US involvements are burning with no end in site. They have made sure it will again be breeding grounds for alqaeda. And just as surely if Assad falls, Syria will be too.

I am very concerned about the reality that there may very well have been CIA and Israeli involvement in these atrocity’s. The order of battle appears to have been issued many years ago. it is the civilians who will suffer the most.
