Senator praises court ruling
Sen. Greg Ball, R-Patterson, Putnam County, called a court ruling that tossed a portion of New York’s gun-control law a “huge win for our constitutional freedoms.”
A federal judge ruled Tuesday that New York’s expanded ban on assault weapons is constitutional, however it cannot limit a magazine to seven bullets.
“This bill was written with the saving of one, and only one, life in mind,” Ball said in a statement. “The political life of a governor who wants to be president. Level headed professionals, including those within the law enforcement community, have pointed out the sheer idiocy of enforcing this political ploy.” To read more blogs from the Gannett Albany Bureau, go to VoteUpNY.com.
