Prayers for the Beck family on the passing of the senior Beck…

Last Wednesday, Glenn shared a poignant message on his Facebook page that explained he was “chasing the sun” as he flew from New York City to Washington state to join his siblings at his father’s bedside as he neared the end of his life. On Saturday, William “Bill” Beck passed away at the age of 86. On radio this morning, Glenn was back in Dallas, and he explained what the last few days have been like for him and his family.
While Glenn’s relationship with his dad had undergone quite an evolution over the years, he described his father as his “best friend.” The two men differed in “profoundly meaningful ways” – chief among them, their relationship with God. Glenn explained that when it came to faith, his father always kept an open mind, but he wasn’t sure what the end would bring.

“He told me once, ‘Son, I’ll keep an open mind, but I will tell you this: I don’t think there’s going to be angels that are going to come down and greet me,’” Glenn recalled. “I told him at the time, ‘I beg to differ with you, Dad.’”
The end of Bill’s life, however, was nothing short of a miracle.
