“A naturalized US citizen from India pleaded guilty Friday to providing material support to al Qaeda, its Syrian affiliate Al-Nusra Front and Shebab militants in Somalia after an FBI sting operation.” How did Gufran Ahmed Kauser Mohammed come to misunderstand Islam in such a way? When he immigrated from India, did U.S. officials make any attempt to determine whether or not he was a supporter of jihad terrorism against the U.S.? Of course not. That would have been “Islamophobic.”
