When Barack Obama made the exchange of five top Taliban terrorists, who were then being held at Guantanamo Bay, for Bowe Bergdahl, who had deserted his platoon before being captured by the Taliban, he admitted that he broke the law in doing so.
At the time, his regime cited ‘severe and exigent circumstances’ as the reason for not notifying Congress 30 days prior t0 the planned exchanged as is required by law. They said they had concerns for Bergdahl’s health, though tests once he was back in U.S. custody showed Bergdahl to be in good health.
Last week, the non-partisan watchdog group, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), said that Obama did indeed break the law in exchanging Bergdahl for the five Taliban terrorists. The Obama regime responded to these findings stating and, despite admitting previously that this exchange broke the law, has changed the tune to their story.
