On A Constitutionalist Note….“The time is now near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves.” Father of Our Country – George Washington 1776……………………………………………………………………In Memoriam: "War" – Andrew Breitbart – Father of Our New Media (1969-2012)
In covering President Obama’s refusal to refer to terrorism as Islamic extremism, CBS and NBC devoted portions of their reports on Thursday night to comments Rudy Giuliani made the day before with NBC reserving a majority of their airtime to attacking the former New York City Mayor for having “set off a war of words” and taking presidential criticism “to another level.” Andrea Mitchell declared he set off “a firestorm” over telling an audience that “I do not believe that the President loves America” and suggested that Giuliani went too far.
While all three network morning shows on Thursday covered President Obama defending his refusal to label terrorism as Islamic extremism during a Wednesday speech, only CBS This Morning actually pushed back on the President’s argument.
On Wednesday, the Washington Post revealed that “[s]ince its creation in 2001, the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation has raised close to $2 billion from a vast global network that includes corporate titans, political donors, foreign governments and other wealthy interests.” Despite the potential conflict of interest facing Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president in 2016, CBS This Morning gave the story a mere 20 seconds on its Thursday broadcast. ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today ignored the story altogether.
Even the reliably liberal Time magazine is admitting the obvious: Joe Biden wouldn’t get a pass for his creepy habit of putting his hands on women if he wasn’t a Democrat. Writer Karol Markowicz conceded, “The only reason Joe Biden gets away with getting handsy with women is because he has a (D) after his name.”
George Stephanopoulos won an award for journalism? The former Democratic operative turned host of a show known for cat videos hyped his award for “excellence in broadcast journalism.” Good Morning America’s Amy Robach touted, “We can’t help but give a big congratulations to one of our own. George took home the top award at last night’s National Press Foundation Dinner.”
During an appearance on ABC’s The View Thursday morning, Comedy Central host Larry Wilmore hilariously mocked NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams following his suspension over lies he made about his reporting in Iraq. Asked if he would rather replace Jon Stewart or Brian Williams, Wilmore responded that while he would rather replace Stewart, “apparently fake news happens in both chairs nowadays.”
