NAPOLITANO DEFENDS DHS AFTER GOP DEBATE

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano took many issues with the GOP presidential candidates following remarks and criticisms they made during last night’s political debate. Napolitano particularly took issue with Texas Governor Rick Perry’s assertion that when President Obama says the border is safer than it’s ever been, “either he has some of the poorest intel of a president in the history of this country, or he was an abject liar to the American people.” Secretary Napolitano suggests talking with some of the border mayors for their take on the matter.

NM GOV. SAYS GRANDPARENTS WERE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez has long acknowledged her Mexican heritage, but just recently acknowledged that her paternal grandparents were illegal immigrants to the U.S.

In protests this week, advocates and some religious leaders citing her family history are pressuring Martinez to drop her effort to repeal the lax New Mexico driver’s license law that allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s license and which has been subject to rampant fraud and abuse by illegal immigrants across the United States.
