The U.S. Capitol Police are investigating threatening emails against Rep. Trey Gowdy, the South Carolina Republican recently tapped to lead a special panel probing the Benghazi terrorist attacks.

The investigation follows emails sent to news outlets warning that Gowdy would be “assassinated.”

The Capitol Police would not comment on the scope of the investigation but Officer Shennell Antrobus confirmed that there is “an active, open investigation.”

Martin Luther King III left MSNBC host Toure stunned on Friday when he told him it’s important for blacks to “be engaged with the Tea Party.”

King’s comments came after Toure asked if the Democratic Party has done enough to justify the overwhelming support it sees from the black community.

“The party does not do enough,” King replied.

He also said blacks are not a “monolithic people” and they should feel free to be Democrats, Republicans or independents.

I simply have to sigh at the premise offered by some in positions of authority and influence when they attempt to appear knowledgeable about certain events in history or certain perspectives of the framers and yet profess that revolution or secession or resistance is a form of anarchy.
