So insincere! You have been on the lead in shutting down blogs, journals, new media, ect… Mr Phuck Schumer…STFU!
Dear Mrs. L:
Knowing of your support for an open and accessible internet, I wanted to update you on recent net neutrality activity. Today, June 5, 2014, I submitted a comment to the FCC proposed rulemaking on net neutrality highlighting how important it is for Chairman Wheeler and the Commission to consider the significant public input that they have already received, as well as how important it is that the Commission promulgates final rules consistent with the principles of an open internet.
This is in addition to a letter I recently signed with ten of my colleagues in which we implored Federal Communications Commission Chairman Thomas Wheeler to craft meaningful rules that will prevent blocking, ban discrimination, and promote increased transparency in the Internet marketplace. I was encouraged to see that after receiving our letter, the FCC has decided to include specific questions targeted at the development of more robust rules that will protect net neutrality. In the wake of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia’s recent decision vacating Commission’s 2010 Open Internet Order, it is clear that that the need for explicit, enforceable rules has become even more urgent.
I believe that access to the internet should be affordable and readily available to all Americans, and I am glad that the FCC is leaving all options on the table while developing a way to ensure that the Internet remains free and open to everyone. I have urged the FCC to listen to the voices of the thousands of New Yorkers who have commented on the proposed rule. The already overwhelming response to the proposed FCC rule underscores just how important this question is to Americans in their everyday lives, and I will continue to fight to ensure that their voices are heard, and to protect net neutrality for all.
Again, thank you for contacting me regarding this important issue. Please feel free to contact me in the future if I can be of further assistance on this or any other matter.
Sincerely,
Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator
